Princeton may not have a ‘Chipotle’, but we now have two ‘Subway‘ sandwich stores after a second branch of Subway opened on East Nassau Street.
The new store has appeared in the former home of the Princeton Review, and is right downstairs from Princeton TigerLabs. It was approved by the Princeton Zoning Board last year, at which time the appearance of another chain store drew critical comments from the owner of nearby local sandwich outlet, ‘Hoagie Haven’. There are other Subway outlets on Witherspoon Street, in Princeton Junction, Plainsboro, Princeton Forrestal Village and Nassau Park Boulevard Mall. Only the Witherspoon Street and Nassau Street outlets are walkable from downtown Princeton.
The East Nassau Street area has one of the greatest concentrations of places to eat in Princeton. In addition to Subway, the Spanish deli/restaurant ‘Despana‘ opened last year, and a new juice bar is set to open on the same block some time in the near future. A new 7-11 (and possibly a new post office) is set to open across the road at 259 Nassau Street, and new apartments may be constructed at 255 Nassau Street.

So gross.
