What can be done about traffic in Princeton? Everyone has a theory, but what do the experts say? Tonight is a special moment for ‘Walkable Princeton’! For the first time (hopefully the first of many times!) our team will be getting together with local residents and members of the community to discuss walkability. We will be at Clocktower Cabana in the central plaza of Princeton Shopping Center tonight, Tuesday July 8, from 7.00 pm. – 9.30 p.m. Look for our ‘Walkable Princeton’ sign with our logo on it. College Towns. What does that make you think of? A smallish town or city, with lots of young people, arts-y atmosphere, ivy-covered buildings, a vibrant downtown with eclectic bars, cafes and restaurants? Sounds pretty good! So what is the greatest College Town?? Obviously, we’d say ‘Princeton’!!! But we’re biased, right? The Paul Robeson Center for the Arts is located in Princeton, kitty-corner to the Princeton Public Library at the junction of Witherspoon St and Paul Robeson Pl. Obama has selected a new Secretary for Transportation to replace Ray LaHood, who is retiring. This time, the President has selected a Democrat, and it’s Anthony Foxx, Mayor of Charlotte, NC! Mr Foxx, pictured above, had his nomination confirmed last week by a rare unanimous vote of the Senate. At the age of 42, he has already got a law degree from NYU; practiced law in private practice, for the Department of Justice, and for the House Judiciary Committee; served on Charlotte City Council; and been elected Mayor of Charlotte. Ray LaHood, pictured above, is the guy who implemented President Obama’s push for increased motor vehicle efficiency. Since becoming Secretary for Transportation in 2009, he has also championed the rights of air passengers stuck on runways, and defended Obama’s strategy of investment in high-speed rail infrastructure.
