This 3-bed, 3-ba house in the John-Witherspoon neighborhood is available for rent at $2,100 per month. (click to expand.)
As part of an occasional series where we cast an eye over walkable rentals and real estate in Princeton, we invite you to comment on a current, local listing. You can find previous entries here and here.
This is a 3-bed, 1-ba house at Birch Avenue and John Street, in Princeton’s John-Witherspoon neighborhood. The rate is $2,050 per month, rising to $2,100 per month after July 2014, and the full listing with more photos can be viewed here.
Walkability is a boast for this house, as the listing mentions:
“The location of this house really can’t be beat. It is on a quiet street just a 10 minute walk from Palmer Square and 15 minutes from the heart of campus. In addition, right around the corner you have a park and community center, a great Mexican restaurant, a cafe, and a corner store.”
The local neighborhood is indeed fantastic- we put the Witherspoon-John neighborhood #1 in our list of local sites for Princeton U. students to walk to back in April of this year. But what is inside?
There are three bedrooms, although one of them is apparently quite small. Washer-dryer in the basement, hardwood floors and period fittings. There is a fenced-off back yard, with “a big lilac tree, raspberry bushes and a storage shed”. Utilities are separate.
The house is available immediately. What do you think? Is this house likely to rent quickly at $2,050 per month?
Let us know if you think $2,000 per month represents fair market value for this rental property! We welcome your comments in the space below!
I’d say good deal! It looks like a nice house, kitchen seems modern and it is pretty close to town. It seems in Princeton its hard to even get a 2 bed apartment at this price. Does sound like the 3rd room is too small to be used as a bedroom, though.
