1- and 2-bed apartments are available at The Waxwood, on Quarry Street in Princeton’s Witherspoon-John neighborhood. The rate is $2,450 for a 1-bed, 1-ba unit. The full listing can be seen here.
The Waxwood is a piece of history, known as ‘The Witherspoon School For Colored Children’, it educated the local African-American students until becoming the first desegrated school in the region in 1947. The building subsequently became a nursing home until it was converted for residential use by the Hillier Architecture group, winning a Smart Growth award from NJ Future.
